General Shafter School is a learning environment that strives to achieve excellence in education. Founded in 1904, General Shafter has maintained the tradition of providing each of our students a safe, learning-focused campus. Students are not only supported and expected to do their best in their studies but are also held accountable to treat each other with respect.
The General Shafter School District community is located in a vibrant, rural setting. We remain committed to providing the same level of service and communication with our families as we did in 1912 when our enrollment was 27. Our school will serve over 200 students in 2007-2008. We understand the best way to educate children is for students, parents, and staff to work together. With 240 square miles of territory, our task is a large one in all respects.
